We care about keeping your data safe.

Fully Secure

We run on an infrastructure so secure that it’s trusted by governments, hospitals, and financial providers.

GDPR-Ready

Famly and our server operator AWS are approved in line with GDPR and the EU Data Protection Directive.

Full Backup

The entire database is backed up with by-the-second incremental backup inbetween full daily backups.

We Prioritise Your Security

At Famly, we prioritise security in everything we do. We not only do what is necessary from a legal and regulatory perspective, but go beyond that by further securing our operational setup and our apps.

This page describes just some of the measures we take internally as well as how our server operator, Amazon Web Services, goes the extra mile to keep your data secure.

Fully encrypted systems keep your data safe and daily backups protect your data from loss.
Custom permission controls let you choose who can see and access what.

Infrastructure & Backup

Famly’s setup runs on infrastructure in Frankfurt, Germany and is so secure that it is used by governments, healthcare, payment providers, and financial service companies.

We make sure that every user’s data is safe at all times both in transit and at rest.

Famly’s data is stored in an industry standard AES-256 encrypted database. The data is synched securely between multiple zones in Frankfurt for high durability and availability.

The database is also backed up fully once a day, every day. In between these, we keep a by-the-second incremental backup.

“Ensuring that your data is safe and secure in Famly is our number one priority. With encryption, regular backups and hundreds of daily checks we ensure that Famly is always online and accessible – but only to the people you want it to be.”

Henrik Rasmussen, CTO, Famly

EU and GDPR Compliant

Famly is fully compliant with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

On top of this, our server provider Amazon Web Services (AWS) has been approved in accordance with the EU Data Protection Directive.

This is the directive that protects individuals with regards to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (also known as Directive 95/46/EC). Broadly, this directive sets out a number of data protection requirements, which apply when personal data on EU citizens is being processed.
