Free Range Urban Kids are a very different kind of nursery. With no indoor facilities, the forest school comes complete with an outdoor mud kitchen, real tools, and a full fire pit.
A nursery that unique comes with some unique challenges too. With her whole day occupied making sure every child gets the most out of the nature around them, Director Elizabeth Hassay was starting to get caught up in a bit of an admin crisis.
Free Range Urban Kids is a forest school based in Hackney, London. After looking for an outdoor setting for her own children and finding nothing, Elizabeth and her business partner Haley decided it was time to change that. They now look after 40 children, introducing them to the forest school ethos in the very heart of London.
